When it comes to pet care, there is no denying that dog food nutrition is one of the most critical aspects. After all, dogs need a well-balanced, varied, and proper diet in order to stay healthy and happy. Unfortunately, there are a lot of myths surrounding what dogs should and should not eat. This can cause pet owners to make errors when it comes to ensuring their pet gets the sort of diet that it requires. Inconsistent or incorrect food intake regime – There is only one place to start, and this is by taking a look at incorrect or inconsistent food intake regimes. Just like little children, toddlers, and babies, dogs need to be fed in accordance with a stringent feeding schedule. There are no exceptions and no excuses! For example, old dogs need to be fed two or three times per day and they often need special foods. Furthermore, when it comes to puppies, they should be fed numerous times per day. From birth to around two months of age, you are actually going to need to feed your puppy between five and six times per day. This will then reduce to four times per day when they are between the age of two and four months old. 

Food intake does not match up to physical activity – There are a number of different factors that need to be considered when determining how much food your dog should eat. One of these factors is physical activity. The dog food nutrition schedule you provide your pet with needs to reflect their general health and age as well, plus any specific health conditions if applicable. However, the biggest blunder people tend to make here is feeding their dog the same amount and type of food without considering any changes in their pet’s physical activity levels. 

Feeding your dog with human foods – Last but not least, this is one of the biggest mistakes that we see pet owners make. Your dog does not need to consume human foods in order to have a natural diet. There is healthy dog food available that is natural, and this is a much better option to go for because it has been created with your dog’s nutritional needs in mind. Plus, a number of the different food items that we deem tasty contain huge amounts of colorants, artificial sweeteners, spices, fat, sugar, and salt. These are all ingredients that your dog should never eat.
