Now CBD treats simply offer a great alternative to oils, and there are two main reasons that I want to highlight in this article, one is convenience, and the other is specific ingredients.
So firstly, some dogs just don’t like the taste of CBD oil. If you have a picky eater, then you might find it quite difficult to administer the oil under their tongue. Now if you bought some oil and you are having trouble with this and, you can always just put a few drops directly on their food this certainly works in giving your dog CBD oil but if you need a new supply of CBD, then perhaps treats do make a great alternative to oils because they’re just so easy to administer it’s as easy as giving your dog a treat.
The other benefit of treats is that you can often order a type that targets very specific ailments and symptoms. The reason for this is that CBD treats will contain other ingredients which are also believed to help a particular ailment or condition that your dog might have
For example, calming treats—may contain things like valerian root, passionflower, and chamomile. So these together with CBD may offer support for dogs who are stressed out and anxious.
Mobility treats may contain things like Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Turmeric, MSM, Boswellia and these together with CBD may support relieving pain associated with inflammation. For instance, there are other treats like heart and immune care treats and cognitive treats which may contain things like omega-3 fatty acids, elderberry, and blueberry.
These are great for ageing dogs, perhaps who need a cognitive boost or just an overall wellness supplement. So treats allow you also to give your dog other ingredients which might be beneficial for a specific type of ailment.
So moving along we’re going to talk about dosing CBD treats. CBD dosing seems to be a very common question among pet owners. And the reason for this is that there are so many CBD oils and different brands out there and they all offer slightly different guidelines. It can be much more confusing when pet owners buy CBD oil which is intended for humans and then try to figure out a proper dosage for their dog. Just follow the guidelines from the manufacturer, but it’s important to note that you should be buying CBD for your pet from a reputable company like Enliven cbd. Every CBD oil has a different concentration and every CBD cookie or treat does as well, so if you buy your CBD treats for your pet from a reputable brand they will have very clear instructions on how much you need to give, and it’s really that simple.
If you’re using CBD on your dog and after a couple of weeks you’re just not seeing any results with the regular dose, then you can certainly jump up to a stronger dose. so if you had a dog who’s about 30 pounds and you do not see results then simply jump up to a more potent dose, and that would be three treats per day from this particular brand using their particular treats For better clarity, let’s just assume some factual numbers, based on a dog treats company that I won’t mention. Say a dog formula seems to have two milligrams of CBD per treat and they give instructions stating one biscuit serving contains (2 milligrams per 10 pounds of body weight). So if you had a dog that weighed 30 pounds, then you would want to give them three biscuits per day.
And then lastly, one other example is, say a company has dosage instructions that are very easy with a vague chart that comes with their products. And it just says one treat daily if your dog weighs under 10 pounds, two treats daily if they weigh between 10 and 25 pounds, three treats if they weigh between 25 and 50 pounds—and so on. Then if you have a larger dog that weighs over 50 pounds, it will only be natural to administer about 4 treats per day. So that’s how you dose with CBD dog treats, just follow the instructions that are given from the manufacturer, and if you’re gonna use CBD oils, it goes the same way.
