Cathy Kangas, CEO and Founder of PRAI Beauty, announced today that the Baltimore Humane Society, a shelter in Reisterstown, MD (http://bmorehumane.org), is one of 10 shelters across the country participating in a national “Free the Shelters” adoption event to help homeless animals.
Adoption fees will be partially subsidized by PRAI Beauty the weekend of May 4th at Baltimore Humane Society and selected shelters in Houston; Oklahoma; Cleveland; Palm Valley in Edinburg, TX: Little Rock; Kingsport, TN; Rome, GA; Santa Fe and Tampa Bay, FL. $50 will be paid toward all adoptions. That’s the entire fee for cats and senior dogs! Half the fee for larger dogs.
This event celebrates the one-year anniversary of the “Free the Shelters” campaign that began in May 2017. Since then, PRAI Beauty has gone across the country sponsoring free adoption events at 44 municipal and private animal shelters finding homes for 2,428 animals.
Baltimore Humane Society will hold its free adoption event at its shelter located at 1601 Nicodemus in Reisterstown, MD on FridayMay 4th through Sunday, May 6th from 12 pm to 6 pm.
The shelter was selected because of its commitment to helping animals in their care. It has more than 50 animals looking for a home. “We are so excited to be included in Cathy’s Free the Shelters Campaign,” says Wendy Goldband, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Baltimore Humane Society. “There are so many wonderful homeless pets looking to give love. Our no-kill shelter is committed to finding a good home for each and every one of the animals that comes to stay with us. The Free the Shelters Campaign will make it that much easier for people to adopt.”
Cathy will announce the event and participating shelters the week of April 30th on HSN TV where she sells her successful cruelty-free skincare line PRAI Beauty. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of the United States, she is committed to helping all animals. As the owner of five rescue dogs, she knows how important adoption events are for animals in shelters.
HSUS estimates that about 2.4 million healthy, adoptable dogs and cats are put down in a U.S. shelter each year – one every 13 seconds.
Cathy said: “We are delighted to work with the Baltimore Humane Society for our mega “Free the Shelters” adoption event the weekend of May 4th. This shelter is dedicated to helping animals find a home and we don’t want adoption fees to stand in the way. Our love for animals runs deep at PRAI Beauty and the “Free the Shelters” campaign is one of the ways we bring that passion to life.”
