The holidays are a wonderful time of the year – and Alley Cat Allies wants to make sure they’re also the safest.
Alley Cat Allies has compiled the top tips and advice to help keep cats (and dogs!) safe and happy during the holiday season in this (adorable) Holiday Safety Tips video! MarylandPet.com would like to help spread the word and keep every member of the family safe and happy this holiday season.
Here are some of the holiday safety tips included in the video:
- Holiday plants like lilies, poinsettias, holly, and mistletoe are toxic to cats. Use artificial plants instead.
- Ornaments seem like toys to cats, but may break easily. You don’t want your cat hurting him or herself, so put ornaments out of reach.
- Ribbons and tinsel can be very dangerous to pets. If eaten, these items can become entangled in the digestive tract and require life-saving surgery!
