November 27, 2017 — Reisterstown, MD — For 90 years, Baltimore Humane Society has been saving lives and on Tuesday, November 28, Giving Tuesday, it will be marking the landmark birthday with a 42% rise in its adoption rate. Giving Tuesday is the designated day across the nation when people are supposed to remember what the holiday season is all about — not just about shopping. It’s also about giving.
This Giving Tuesday Baltimore Humane Society will be celebrating 90 years of saving lives and connecting best friends and marking a record-breaking year with an adoption rate skyrocketing to 42% over the past year. In fact, the private, non-profit, no-kill shelter is now helping ease the numbers housed in municipal shelters state-wide, and beyond. It is saving animals from kill shelters down the east coast, including an area in Florida that is a known dumping ground for hundreds and hundreds of dogs.
On Giving Tuesday Baltimore Humane Society will be asking for birthday gifts (donations) to help save even more lives in the future. Donors of $50 or more will receive party favors, their choice of a stuffed animal, kitten or puppy lunch bags. Monthly donors of $25 or more will receive all three favors plus a 90thbirthday commemorative t-shirt.
Donors are being asked to make their gifts through the Baltimore Humane Society Facebook Donate Button. That’s because the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Facebook will match every donation up to $1000 per donation and $50,000 total beginning at 8am on Giving Tuesday, November 28th.
